Rural Health Presentations Needed!
This year the New England Regional Minority Health Committee's conference, Eliminating Health Disparities by 2010: Tools, Skill, and Networks for Action, will be held March 2, 3, and 4, 2003 at the Radisson Hotel in Boston. The conference will provide a New England forum to identify and target activities that will eliminate racial/ethnic disparities in health.
The meeting is a part of the National Initiative to Eliminate Health Disparities that persist among racial/ethnic groups. Participants will review the progress of state plans and further develop prior objectives. The target audience includes a broad range of people from all the New England states interested in eliminating health disparities including health and human service providers, consumers, policy makers, government officials, students, educators and researchers, etc.
The Committee is soliciting abstracts for individual and panel presentations and workshops. They seek to enhance participants' skills, demonstrate new approaches, and equip participants for mobilizing community networks that effectively address health disparities. Among the crosscutting topics presenters can focus on is Rural Health. The NE Rural Health RoundTable encourages people to submit abstracts on rural health topics so that rural health needs will be a part of this important conference.
