Healthcare Summit: Operating in the Current Healthcare Environment |
 |
When: January 23-24, 2008
Where: Radisson Hotel, Manchester, NH
Back for the third year, the financial conference was jointly sponsored by the NH-VT Chapter, Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the New England Rural Health RoundTable.
The HFMA/RoundTable 2008 financial healthcare summit "Operating in the Current Healthcare Environment," grappled with a range of funding and cost reporting issues common to all health care facilities, large and small.
Manchester was the place to be on January 23-24, 2008 for health care officials concerned with paying the bills, writing grants to bring in new monies, interpreting arcane federal rulings, preparing for a "RAC" audit, reporting on quality measures and coping with workforce issues. Attendees included providers, policy makers and leaders from hospitals, primary care, public health and community health systems.
Keynote speaker Richard H. (Rick) Wade, Senior Vice President for Strategic Communications, American Hospital Association, chose the provocative title "Friends in all the Right Places" for his keynote address, saying "The nation's hospitals have never been under greater scrutiny. Government...is pressuring for greater public disclosures of safety and quality data; costs, charges and prices."
